In spite of contact sport being banned, we figured out a way to play rugby without the contact: tag rugby. No tackles are made, nor scrums, nor line-outs. Tackles are scored by tugging off a tag attached to a belt around the player’s waist. Scores are upped through tries scored.
Our Junior and Senior Preppies played a fantastic round of internal league matches in the last couple of weeks on the hockey astro, the squash and netball courts and on the rugby fields. Although no parents were allowed to spectate on campus, they did watch from their vehicles along the fence lines. The children thoroughly enjoyed this very different experience and proved that `Difficulties Do Not Dismay Us’ (Nec Aspera Terrent) once again!
