Our Prep boarders enjoy an extraordinary programme that is jam-packed full of exciting things to do over the weekends. Sport takes priority and is always well-supported. Crafts, pottery, Prep’s Got Talent competitions, walking the grateful SPCA hounds, playing with the kittens, chef competitions and inter-house banter competitions sprinkled in throughout the term, make the life of a boarder full, interesting, exciting and rewarding.
Our Friday night tradition is hot-chocolate and movies or, in warmer weather, an intense FIFA session in the Griffin dorm. Of course the House staff also get stuck in with the ’skilling’ jargon.
Once the various sporting fixtures (or internal league games, as in the case where sporting fixtures are disallowed under Covid rules) are over on Saturday mornings, there are beautiful walks in the hills surrounding Grahamstown/Makhanda, or a trip to the beautiful beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.
Hikes and a picnic at Grey Dam, or a braai by the poolside make Sunday a more relaxed day and gives the children a chance to read a book, snooze in the sunshine and relax ahead of another busy week.
