Mrs Morgan Sparrow is one of those people you feel has always been around – and she certainly has been a part of both Junior and Senior Prep in various capacities for several years now. A keen photographer, Mrs Sparrow has also shared her talent with us, helping out over K-Day functions and campus photo shoots. We asked her a few questions so we can all get to know her and her family better:
Q: Where were you born and where did you grow up? I was born in the lovely seaside town of Knysna. I lived there, and then in Plettenberg Bay with my parents and younger sister and brother until the age of 9 when we moved to Grahamstown.
Q: Give us a bit of info about your school and work history: I attended Victoria Primary School and Victoria Girls High and studied at Rhodes University. I completed my PGCE in 2012, and have worked full and part-time in various grades within the Prep family over the years. Earlier this year, when the Grade 3 class split, I took over as the second Grade 3 teacher, alongside Mrs Heidi Fowlds.
Q: Tell us about your family: My family is small but amazing! My husband is the most hard-working and honest man I know. We have been married for almost 16 years and have a 10 year old son, Connor. He is the bravest, most caring boy with a quiet, but persistent determination and a smile that lights up the room.
Q: What are your personal interests and hobbies? I enjoy the beach and outdoors in general. As a family, we spend as much time as we can at the coast. I love a good book and good food. I also have a complicated love-hate relationship with photography that likely stems from the clash between the artistic and perfectionist sides of me.
Q: What do you appreciate about being part of the Prep environment? I always wanted a big family. In many ways, Prep has been that.
