NEC ASPERA TERRENT . EMBRACING NEW FRONTIERS
Welcome from the Head

I feel very privileged to be the ninth Headmaster of St Andrew's Preparatory School, especially at this time in education when numerous and exciting best practise models abound. It is also a period in South Africa which is rich in potential for schools to play meaningful roles in their communities.

Over its 127 years of service, 'Prep' has grown and evolved so that it now stands as a unique and leading boarding and preparatory school. The Fairlawn Campus which is home to the Pre-Primary and Foundation Phase boys and girls offers a secure and nurturing educational and homely environment for our young children to establish sound learning and values foundations. Top Prep is the pride of the senior boys and a place where the lads grow in leaps and bounds as they begin to master the skills required for success in high school and beyond.

Robert 'Bollai' Mullins, one of Prep's early Headmasters, had the following dictum, "Work hard, play hard, sleep hard, eat hard". Whilst the social and educational contexts have changed dramatically since the days of Rob Mullins's headship, his words are an amazingly apt and accurate description for life at 'Prep'!

All of the staff at Prep appreciate that all children are precious in the eyes of their parents and as such ensure that the sense of a school family is deeply entrenched in the school's ethos. St Andrew's Preparatory is blessed with an exceptional teaching faculty, who understand the learning needs of preparatory pupils and believe wholeheartedly in the concepts of 21st century learning whilst respecting and building on our traditions and rich heritage.

I invite you to visit our campus to experience first-hand the 'Prep Vibe' that is tangible on our campuses, the warmth of the relationships which exists between our pupils and staff, and to see our gracious buildings, beautiful grounds and extensive sports facilities. I look forward to meeting you when you visit.
