The St Andrew's Prep marimba band recently enjoyed a weekend away on a Marimba camp organized by their teachers Mr Daniel Hutchinson and Hilton Broerwa at the Amakhala Conservation centre.
The band had a day of intensive workshops run by marimba teacher and player, Badge Tapembera from Zimbabwe, who said of the boys 'I have rarely taught such a responsive and talented group of boys who are so quick to learn'. During the course of the weekend the band played twice for appreciative audiences at Amakhala as well to the congregation of the Sidbury Chapel on the Sunday. Lots was learned and great fun was had by all in the 2010 Prep marimba band.
