Prep Pupils Support Hospice Patients
This week, St Andrew’s Prep shares in the life-preserving work of the Island Hospice – without which,
many families in our own community would not survive.
By wearing the traditional sunflower colour of yellow and donating R5, each of the 254 pupils at Prep will be supporting the weak,
sickly and desperately ill patients in and around Grahamstown.
Internationally based, Island Hospice was the first organisation in Africa to provide palliative care to terminally ill patients. IAHPC focuses on advancing these care programs, education, research and policies to improve the care provided to patients around the world.
St Andrew’s Prep boys and Staff count themselves privileged to contribute to such a vital service
Prep’s Around the World Evening was a resounding success, drawing over 500 people to taste culinary delicacies from ten different countries
across the globe. Local Grahamstonians blossomed in a riot of colours and fancy dress according to their choice of country.
The well-loved Prep Marimba band welcomed the dinner guests and a solo St Andrew’s College guitarist tuned up later,
followed by Des Alcock, well known solo band singer as the diners enjoyed the delicious food, a balmy evening,
flowers, candles and strung fairy lights.
18th June 2013
St Andrew's Prep enjoyed a chilly but very exciting K-Day weekend with Netball, Hockey and Rugby matches on the go against Kingswood. The festive spirit on the side of the sports field among parents was good to see and the scores were particularly encouraging.
