Prep hosted a ‘Grandparents and Special Friends Day’ at the end of Term 1

Marimba Band play at the Bathurst Show:
The St Andrew’s Prep Marimba band together with teacher Shannon Wright wowed audiences at the Bathurst Show this year. The rainy weather didn’t dampen the crowds or the spirits and many were seen dancing to the bands fantastic ‘rhythms and beats’ of this accomplished young band.

Collaborative art at its best!
The Grade 7 and Pre-primary pupils at St Andrew’s Prep got together to do a collaborative art project. Working in pairs the ‘big boys’ helped the little ones by drawing silhouettes of themselves onto large cardboard sheets of paper and then paint these images together! What a fun and creative time of learning, sharing and making new friends was had by all!

Makana 8km Night Race:
The St Andrew’s Prep, SAC and DSG pupils enjoyed participating in the Makana Brick 8km Night Race. The 1st Preppie home was 10 year old Liam Little, who is proving to be an amazing ‘little’ athlete! Congratulations to Scott Cuthbert and Melusie Mtshali from St Andrew’s Preparatory School who played in the Eastern Cape PE Mini 2 Tennis tournament over the past weekend. 22 boys from the Eastern Cape competed and Melusi came 3rd and Scott came 4th. Well done boys for this excellent result!

The Preppies were involved in the 1st gala of the season on the 9th of February.
Hosted by Kingswood College, the annual short course gala is a great way to kick of the short, but intense swimming season for the Junior schools. The boys and girls did exceptionally well and made their coaches, parents and school proud, with their individual and team performances.

St Andrew's Prep celebrated its 127th on the 27th January 2012!
All the Preppies from the tiniest to the tallest gathered on Fairlawn field to reflect on Prep's long history, sing the school song and of course sing Happy Birthday to their special school. The HUGE Birthday cake was donated to the Eluxolweni Shelter, while the Preppies enjoyed doughnuts and juice for tea at break time!

Picnic at Grey Dam:
The St Andrew's Prep School Grade 4- 7 boys enjoyed the traditional beginning of year picnic at Grey Dam on Sunday. There was fudge making in groups over open fires, swimming in the dam and a picnic lunch to enjoy. What a great ice-breaker and start to the school year! A great way for new boys and old as well as staff to get to know one another and have loads of fun in the process.
