Each year, our Grade 7s take a long and beautiful hike from Kasouga to Kenton-on-Sea along a most scenic and fascinating stretch of shoreline. Apart from being a wonderful diversion to delving straight into the necessary academics, it provides a fantastic opportunity for the boys to get to know each other, to relax in each others’ company and to get to know their teachers and boarding staff.

The weather looked slightly grim as the boys left Makhanda, but it was cool, clear and breezy down at the beach.

The hike is a multi-pronged approach to assess many aspects about the boys, their leadership skills, various talents and to encourage general camaraderie.
