Grown men, laughing like boys and competing in some impromptu Dorm Races of their own in Griffin House. Some Hasie Court games and even a raucous rendition of the Prep Song, “I’ll Sing You One, Oh!” tumbled out as our Old Preppies caught the delightful memories of their Prep days this past weekend.
St Andrew’s College and Prep held their classes of 1973, 1983, 1993, 1998 and 2003 reunions this past weekend. As is tradition, the Old Preppies returned to their `stomping grounds’ on Saturday morning to relive some of their Prep memories. And what a wonderful morning it was!
All our Preppies were down on Fairlawn Field playing their hearts out against Selborne, so Memory Hall was quiet. But not for long. Bonga Nkwelo pulled off the piano cover and played a fantastic rendition of ‘In The Mood’, as taught to him by his Matie all those years ago!
The flood of memories and mischievous stories flowed. Past Prep Headboy Matthew Ball was among the happy group and everyone managed to find their carved name on the boards (some even found their great grandfather’s name, which took some searching!)
